China Telecom has announced the launch of the world's most powerful processor, Ascend 910.
The launch of the new processor, as well as MindSpore's versatile IT infrastructure, marks a new step in Huawei's AI (information security and risk management) process, said CEO Eric Shaw.
Huawei pointed out that the performance of the Ascend 910 belong to the Ascend Max series chipset and are part of the company's strategy to create a full range of artificial intelligence scenarios. In addition, the new processor drains much less energy than expected.
"The Ascend 910 is working much better than expected," Shaw said. "It certainly has more computing power than any other AI processor in the world."
Huawei wants to continue to invest in AI processors to provide greater, affordable, and adaptable processing capacity to meet the needs of a wide range of scenarios, such as handling vehicles for auto- conduct and training.
The Chinese company "Huawei" has been placed on the "blacklist" of the United States of America because of American allegations that the Chinese company would have activities contrary to national security. She then announced that US President Donald Trump would ease the restrictions imposed on him.
