The astronomer and telescope designer of the Hubble Space Telescope Nancy Roman died at the age of 93. NASA has been working in this agency since 1959 and became the first woman in American history to hold a leading position in the region, NASA said.
Roman is also associated with the design of the famous Hubble Space Telescope. NASA officials have called it "Hubble" after the launch of Hubble.
Roman resigned from NASA in 1979.
