Egypt achieved a historic feat by winning the Under-21 World Cup by beating Germany 32-28 in their final match in Macedonia today.
Egypt swept Germany in the first half 19-13.
The junior handball team qualified for the final by beating Portugal 41/36 in the semi-finals after beating Iceland 35/31 in the round of 16.
On the road to the final, the handball team recorded seven wins in the first round, beating Sweden 32-29 on the first kick, before losing to France 28/24, beating Taiwan 36/25, Canada 47/20 and Hungary. Before the defeat of Slovenia 30/23 in the round of 16, and win a deserved victory against Iceland 35/31 before beating Portugal 41/36 in the semifinals.
