A 14-year-old Chinese teenager named Zhang Xiu has caught the attention of social media pioneers in videos of her playing basketball, due to her exceptional height of 226cm.
Dubbed “The Miracle,” Zhang became a trending topic on Thursday after video footage of her helping her team win a basketball tournament in Jingzhou, Hubei Province, China, after scoring 42 points and taking 25 rebounds.
Comparisons were quickly drawn between Zhang and NBA star and Chinese basketball player Yao Ming, the famous 231cm tall and NBA Hall of Fame inductee in 2016 alongside Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson.

According to the Global Times, Zhang was 160cm tall in first grade and climbed two meters in sixth grade.
Zhang was born into a basketball family. Zhang’s father (2.13m) played the game professionally, and his mother Yu Ying (1.98m) was a former member of the China Women’s Basketball Team.
Some social media users ask how tall Zhang will be after she finishes growing up.
