The researchers found that certain exercises, such as prescription medications, are effective in lowering blood pressure.
Regular walking or swimming and simple weight lifting exercises are practices that treat high blood pressure just like beta-blockers or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, according to 40 000 people, reported Sky News in the British Daily Mail.
High blood pressure affects millions of people around the world, most of whom are forced to take medication and kill around 62,000 people each year as a result of strokes and heart attacks caused by a control insufficient blood pressure.
Therefore, convincing the patient to exercise regularly may be a good solution for those who are reluctant to take medication.
The researchers, led by academics from the London School of Economics and Stanford University in the United States, collected 391 trials involving 39,700 patients.
The researchers found that a range of endurance exercises, such as walking, running, cycling, swimming, and resistance exercises, such as weightlifting, allowed for Lower blood pressure at the level of health of people with the disease.
The researchers, who published their findings in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, said patients should not get rid of blood pressure medications without consulting a doctor.
They also stressed that patients should be able to engage in regular exercises.
