You should always factory reset any device before selling it online, at a mobile store, or even when giving it to a friend or family member, as this not only erases all potentially sensitive data, but restores it. to its new state.

Windows PC

In Windows, type “reset” in the Start Search box at the bottom left of the Windows Start screen. An item called “Reset this PC” should appear.

Google Chromebook
There are several ways to start the procedure. Simultaneously press the Ctrl, Alt, Shift and “r” keys from the login screen to display the Powerwash dialog box. This is useful if you can’t even get to the Chrome OS home screen.
Alternatively, from your Home screen, tap the clock portion of the dock at the bottom right of the screen, then tap the Settings icon, which looks like a gear.
Select Advanced towards the bottom of the main pane and scroll down to find Powerwash.
Android phones and devices
Initially, you will find the reset option for Android slightly different depending on the version you are using and whether it uses a custom interface, and you will usually find it in the system part of the settings with the name (Reset).
And when you want to erase all data (factory reset). Android will do a prompt or two to make sure you haven’t done it by mistake, and you’ll need to enter the PIN to unlock.
While resetting Android, you need to tap on the search button in settings (usually the magnifying glass at the top right of the screen) and type “reset”. This appropriate shortcut should appear. Then select the Factory Reset option from the next menu.
Wear OS watches.
Wear OS watches often look the same, but that also means that there is an efficient and consistent way to reset them to factory settings.

PS4
The most reliable way to reset the PS4 to factory settings is to do so through Safe Mode.
Turn off the console, then press the power button on the PS4 itself (instead of the panel) until you hear two beeps. This starts it up in safe mode.
This provides the basic troubleshooting template menu which includes Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software) which is the option you need. It takes a while, but it prepares the console for sale.
Nintendo Switch
There are two ways to reset the Nintendo Switch. The first is a factory reset which does not delete your saved data. Don’t use it if you plan to sell the Switch, but it can come in handy in other situations.
With the power switch off, press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons, then press the power button to turn on the console. This should bring up a recovery screen which allows you to perform a factory reset without deleting your saved files.
For a full reset, turn on your Nintendo Switch and go to the system settings menu. Scroll through this list and select System. At the bottom of this screen you will find the formatting options, which contains the factory reset check that we are looking for.
Light up
Setting up a Kindle for sale is a little different from most other gadgets. While there is a reset option in the Settings menu under the Device Options submenu, the most important part of the process is elsewhere.
You must “unsubscribe”. This removes the Kindle from your Amazon account.
Device registration control is located in the settings area of your account.
Perform both reset and unenrollment to return your Kindle to its new state. Can’t find the settings menu? Click near the top of the screen, then click Settings and All Settings in the pop-up window that should appear.

Garmin’s reset process may vary slightly depending on your model, but it should be the same on Forerunner, Fenix, Vivo active, and Instinct.
Long press the Up button or use the touchscreen to enter the Settings menu. Select System and scroll to Reset. Choose Delete data and reset settings from this menu to completely reset the portable device.
Huawei and Honor smartwatches
Huawei and Honor watches use the same software. The reset procedure is very similar from model to model, with the exception of basic corporate fitness bracelets.
In the settings menu you will find a reset entry which allows you to return the watch to its original state. But you may need to bring the battery to a certain level of charge before you turn it on.
