American comedian Jackie Mason has died at the age of 93.

Meissen was a rabbi before getting involved in the arts in the 1950s. He was known for his commentaries on community affairs, his talk show appearances, and his solo performances on Broadway.

Mason has won numerous awards over the course of his career, including a Tony Award and an Emmy for his voice as Christy’s Clown Father in The Simpsons animated series.
