Al Ain: Jordan won the surprise by imposing 1-0 against Australia, title holder at the opening of Group B of the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates Sunday.
Anas Bani Yasin scored Jordan's only goal with a powerful header after a perfect center from Musa Al-Tamari in the 26th minute to ignite Hamas with 5,000 Jordanian spectators at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
"I thank the players for playing well, they followed all the instructions and all that I asked for," said Jordan coach Vital Burklmans.
Jordan has three points before Syria plays with the Palestinian team later in the group.
