Jordanian monarch and Iraqi president discuss unified positions on the challenges of the Arab nation

Jordan's King Abdullah II and Iraqi President Barham Salih discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and regional developments.

The Jordanian news agency said that at the summit meeting of the 30th ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States, both parties stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation between the two countries on various issues of common interest. The Jordanian and Iraqi leaders stressed the need to build on the tripartite summit bringing together Jordan, Egypt and Iraq last week to strengthen relations between the three countries in all areas , in order to serve their interests and those of the Arab nation.

The Jordanian monarch emphasized Jordan 's stance alongside Iraq in a manner that concretizes the aspirations of its brotherly people in terms of progress and prosperity.

The meeting focused on the need to achieve a just and lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis on the basis of the two-state solution and the Arab peace initiative aimed at creating an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem- Is for capital.

It was also stressed the need to find political solutions to the crises of the region, to restore the security and stability of their peoples, as well as to review the efforts of the war against terrorism in a comprehensive approach.
