In her latest film, Official Secrets, Keira Knightley plays a British government employee fired for disclosing a secret US note before the Iraq war began in 2003.
The actress, aged 34, plays Catherine Gunn, a former interpreter of a British international spy agency, accused of violating the law on official secrets by broadcasting an American memo asking Washington to help the London espionage of the United Nations.
"Many people will disagree with the idea that what Catherine did is right, and many will see what Catherine did," Knightley said. What will doubtless be his courage. "The idea of a person having a moral reaction to a question that puts everything at stake … to do what he thinks is right for saving lives."
Knightley thinks these are the questions that he poses that will make people watch the movie. "The responsibility of the government and the legitimacy of the conflict, and these conflicts can they be illegal, and who will be held responsible?"
The film will be released in the United States on August 30th and then in Britain on October 18th.
