KFC has announced its intention to try chicken pieces of vegetarian ingredients "meatless", in order to take advantage of the growing popularity of meat substitutes.

Kentucky is partnering with Beyond Meat, a herbal food company, to offer chicken-like but meatless chicken wings on a limited pilot scale in the United States.

Kentucky is one of many fast-food chains that try other vegetarian foods than meat.

Earlier this year, Burger King announced the introduction of the famous Weber sandwich made from vegetarian ingredients, while Subway also announced plans to test vegetarian meatballs.

According to his press release, the fried chicken substitute meal "Beyond Fried Chicken" will be served at a Kentucky restaurant in Atlanta on August 27 and will continue to be delicious, as the company's logo promises.

The company said it was the first fast food chain in the United States to offer vegetarian chicken. She had tested a vegetarian alternative to chicken burger earlier this year in the UK.

Kentucky said it would take into account customer feedback to decide whether to launch the product in the United States.

Beyond Mate shares rose more than 5% after the news. The plant food manufacturer had a good start in the financial market by entering the US stock market earlier this year.
