Jürgen Klopp has said all remaining Champions League clubs have an equal chance of winning the title, despite his side, Liverpool, qualifying for the round of 16, and the coach has played down his side’s hopes in the tournament after the local fall.
The winners of the 2019 Champions have reached the quarter-finals for the third time in the past four seasons, having beaten Rasenpal Sport Leipzig 2-0 on Wednesday, topping 4-0 on aggregate.
And winning the Champions League looks like the best chance of qualifying for the tournament next season, with Liverpool occupying eighth place in the Premier League.

Klopp said: “The only reason to participate in this tournament is to want to win it. I’m not naive, we know that so far we don’t seem to be able to win the Champions League, but that doesn’t mean not to say that we do not want to move forward and then we will see the possibility of winning the title. “
He continued, “We have to wait for the lottery, it will be very difficult no matter who the competitor is, but we won’t think ahead, we don’t have to do that.”
Mohamed Salah, who opened the scoring with a low shot before Sadio Mane added the second goal, said it was important to focus on each game separately.
“The team may not be at their best, but we want to win the Champions League and every Premier League game,” he added.
He continued, “We don’t have to look at the big picture because sometimes when you do that you increase the pressure on yourself on the pitch. We don’t have to put pressure on ourselves on the pitch and just to play.”
Liverpool will visit Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league next Monday.
