Dr Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports and Head of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, will open today, Wednesday, at 6:00 p.m. Cairo time, “Online via the Zoom app” the first international darts conference under the title (Towards a Better Future for Dartis Sports in the Arab World. Challenges and Opportunities), organized by the Egyptian Darts Federation under the honorary chairmanship of Sheikh Talal Al-Muhammad Al- Sabah.

The conference will be launched with the participation of 19 Arab countries, namely Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Sudan, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon, in addition to representatives of the authorities concerned, including Abdel Moneim Al Shairi, director of the Youth and Sports Department at the League of Arab States, and Secretary General of the Federation of Olympic Committees Arab nationalist Saud Al-Abdul Aziz, Bill Hatter, president of the International Darts Federation, journalist Muhammad Jamil Abdel Qader, president of the Arab Sports Press Federation, Gianni Merlo, President of the International Federation of Sports Press, Dr Muhammad Subhi Hassanein, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation, and Dr Hisham Al-Jyoushi, Secretary General of the Federation, and the e Dr Bassem El-Tohamy, Director of the Egyptian Special Olympics.

Dr Yahya Abdel Qader, head of the Egyptian Darts Federation and chairman of the conference, said the convening of the conference coincides with Egypt’s celebrations of the anniversary of the glorious victories of the October War, which were the period of separation between the broken years. of glory thanks to the sacrifices of the Egyptian army and the solidarity of the Arab nation.

He added that the purpose of the conference is to spread the culture of practicing the sport of darts in the Arab world and then encourage Arab countries to create national federations for the game in addition to existing federations in some countries in view of the inauguration of the Arab Darts Federation at the earliest.

The president of the conference explained that the sponsorship of the conference by Dr Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, was the main reason for the desire of most Arab countries to participate in its activities, especially since The Egyptian Federation was created by the Minister and he also provided him with all forms of support in order to develop and implement his activities in Egypt by organizing many local tournaments and hosting international tournaments, especially since Minister Park has submitted an official request to Egypt to host the 2025 World Darts Cup.

Regarding the conference proceedings, Gouda Abu Al-Nur, conference rapporteur and board member of the Egyptian Darts Federation, said that the honorary chairmanship of the conference by Sheikh Talal Al- Muhammad Al-Sabah – the eminent figure in the administration of sports in the world, in Asia and in the Arabs – is a qualitative leap in the course of the game and its success in the Arab world in the future.

He added that the conference is presented by Algerian journalist Leila Ben Farhat and consists of an opening session interspersed with a speech by Dr Ashraf Sobhi and speeches by high level guests. The second session will be held under the title of Dartis sport in science and art. The third session is titled The Reality of Dartis in the Arab World. The final session includes the recommendations of the conference as well as the media sessions. Moroccan Mourad Al-Mutawakel and Tunisian journalist Tawfiq Al-Obeidi.

Abu Al-Nour pointed out that the conference had an attendance rate of around 200 people interested in the sport of Dartis in the Arab world, and that the conference will present them with a certificate of participation in recognition of their contribution to the success of the conference.

Dr Hazem Al-Robi, the conference director, explained that the great interaction from Arab countries to participate in the conference reflects the urgent need to pay attention to gambling in the Arab world and the need to create federations. national for them. in the Arab countries then an Arab federation which takes care of the interests of football and Arab youth in order to occupy a decent position in international and continental competitions.
