A study by researchers at the University of Southern California showed the benefits of diabetes medicine.
According to the study, diabetes provides protection against the risk of certain mental illnesses, noting that patients with type 2 diabetes receiving treatment for this disease, have a lower risk of Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
Researchers tested key indicators of the level of diabetes, vascular disease, brain scans and memory test performance, and found that patients not receiving diabetes treatment developed signs of diabetes. Alzheimer's 1.6 times faster than those with diabetes. Those who received treatment were less likely to develop the disease.
