American basketball star LeBron James reacted strongly to statements made by Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Friday after the latter winked at his political channel.
Zlatan said a “king” cannot be as influential outside basketball as they are inside.
“I’m not the right person to play with because I’m doing my duty,” said James after his team’s victory over the Portland Trailblazers 102-93 on Friday.
James responded to statements by Italian Milan star “Ibra”, who believed that athletes “should stay away from politics”, mentioning James by name and asking him to stop his political activities.
And from what the Swedish striker said: “(Lebron) is obvious from what he does, but I don’t like when people have an aura, so they engage in political affairs at the same time. . “
Ibrahimovic’s comments came during an interview with UEFA on the Discovery Channel in Sweden, adding that it was a “mistake” to trample athletes outside their borders.
