Link between depression and heart disease

Researchers at the University of Cambridge have discovered the missing link between heart disease and depression, noting that the causes of stress and depression could explain the relationship between mental health and cardiovascular health.

British researchers, according to the Daily Mail, asked why about 370,000 people aged 40 to 69 were at greater risk of suffering from heart disease and found that people who lost at least one parent due to heart disease 20% more likely to develop depression.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and around the world.
