Mohamed Salah won the Footballer 's Award of the Year 2018 awarded by the Football Association of Footballers, in cooperation with Virgin Media, at a ceremony in London on Monday.
Some 366,000 spectators attended the ballot. Salah was more likely to vote for Manchester City's Rahim Sterling, Leicester defender Virgil van Dyke, Harry Maguire and Sergio Aguero of Manchester City.
"Thank you all for this award, it matters a lot to me because it is awarded on the basis of a public vote," said Salah after winning the award.
"In general, I award any prize to my colleagues and all Liverpool staff, but this time, I would also like to thank the fans for their tremendous support."
Salah is the third Liverpool player to win the trophy after Luis Suarez in 2013 and Felipe Coutinho in 2016.
