The Secretary-General of the Abyan Local Council, Brother Mehdi Al-Hamed, discussed during his meeting with the Director General of the Bureau of Health and Population, Dr. Jamal Omheeb, the health situation in the governorate and the quality of services provided by the Office of Health in various health centers and units, as well as health programs and ways to develop and improve services to meet the needs of citizens.
Al-Hamid stressed the need to respect working hours in all health units and centers so that citizens do not have to seek health services in district cities.
Al-Hamid stressed that local authorities are eager and willing to communicate with donors to provide them with needs and requirements, as well as anything that could provide good health services.
During the meeting, Amtheeb confirmed that with funding from the World Health Organization, one of the organizations working in the health sector would step in and start next week in the services integrative treatment and prevention in the directions of Ahwar, Al-Wadea, Mudia and Al-Mehfed.
Moreover, dr. Jamal Amtheeb said that the Ministry of Health, represented by the Bureau of Health and Population, will implement a spraying campaign to fight against malaria and dengue targeting the Zanzibar Branch, Khanfar, Lauder, Mudia and Almuhfed, funded by UNICEF.
The Director of Health and Population said that WHO would support the province by providing eight cars and would be distributed to hospitals and emergency route points.
