Facebook plans to integrate email services on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, while the three applications will remain independent applications, but will be linked at a high level allowing messages to navigate between different services.

The plan was announced for the first time in the New York Times and would be a personal project of Facebook founder Mark Mark Zuckerberg.

Once the merge is complete, it means that the user of Facebook Messenger can communicate directly with a person with an account. This is currently not possible because the applications are not shared.

The goal of this consolidation is to keep application users in the Facebook system, which will celebrate the 15th anniversary of next year, while allowing the world's largest network to better deal with competing technology giants such as than Google, Microsoft and Apple.

It should be completed by the end of 2019 or early next year.
