Many people were killed and others injured today when an armed gunman opened fire in Christchurch, New Zealand.
"The dead came to our attention in two places: in a mosque on Dines Street and in another mosque on Linewood Street," said Police Commissioner Mike Bush.
"There is a person in custody, but the police think that there may be other perpetrators," he said.
"This is an evolving incident and we are working to confirm the facts, but we can confirm a number of deaths," he said.
