Egyptian actress Mayar Sharif continued her shine on international tennis courts, and achieved another historic achievement for her country, by crowning the Charleston Tournament, one of the “Challenge” tournaments on Sunday.
Mayar won the title of the tournament which took place in the United States, after winning the final match against Poland’s Katarzina Kawa, in unanswered straight sets, details 6-2 and 6-3.
After crowning the title, the 24-year-old Egyptian star made a historic leap in the professional tennis world rankings released today Monday, advancing 32 places to rank 132 in the world, in a historic achievement for women’s tennis. Egyptian had never seen it before.
Mayar had recently achieved a historic feat in Egyptian tennis, acceding to the lead role in the French “Roland Garros”, one of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
