Middle East Television (mbc) launched Monday a new channel called "mbc 5" for the five countries of the Maghreb (Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya), which will be officially broadcast from 21 September.

The new channel, announced by its general manager Mohamed Abdel Motaal and spokesman for the main channel Mazen Hayek, announced that his first appearance would be through the broadcast of the fifth season of the show (the Voice), which will be exclusively reserved for the Maghreb public through mbc 5.

The new channel said that MBC's relationship with the Maghreb general public "is not a coincidence nor a birth today, but a long-standing relationship, which began with the launch of mbc1 in London. in 1991, where the group included and included in its ranks, on its screens and on its platforms, a selection of the best Maghreb experiences and its faces, on their diversity and their difference ".

The new channel announced that it was looking to invest in the best local production, to strengthen the market and to develop, under the common interest of the producers and directors and the abundant skills of the Maghreb, of On the one hand, and the chain, on the other. "

MBC explained that the launch of the channel "is in the interest of the national economies of the Maghreb countries, in terms of contributing to attracting investment in the media sector and stimulating the creation of new jobs, especially for young people, without forgetting the activation of the exchange of experiences and best practices between local, regional and global ".
