Striker Wu Lee became the first Chinese player to score a goal in the Primera Liga after his 3-1 home win against Valladolid on Saturday.

About a month after joining the Liga in the Chinese Premier League, Wu Lee played in Corinthia Al Prat Stadium and scored his third goal in the 65th minute in front of the goalkeeper. L'Espanyol finished 11th with 26 games.

Lee, who called Maradona China, joined Espanyol in January after Chinese video game group Rastar acquired the Catalan club and played its fifth game today.

The 27-year-old striker scored the league's top scorer last season with 27 goals in the Shanghai Sepph and led it to his first league title.

Zhang Chengdong was the first Chinese to play in the Primera Liga in 2015 with Rayo Vijcano but did not score a goal.
