Microsoft Develops Liquid-Filled Seal for Foldable Surface Devices

A new patent has been discovered that reveals Microsoft's ambitions for its dual-screen device. If expectations are right, Microsoft is expected to unveil its dual-screen device at its Surface event in October, which could explain why the company is developing seals that use liquid to reduce the pressure on flexible and collapsible displays. According to the patent, the aforementioned liquid fills the voids around the flexible screen to help it move.

The Microsoft patent provides an example of such a device with two interfaces and a flexible OLED screen. The illustrations also illustrate the complexity of the joint. However, the most interesting is that this patent has been registered by the patent licensing department of Microsoft, indicating that Microsoft may license it to partners.

Do not forget that Microsoft is currently working with several device manufacturers and that some of these companies will be working on new dual – screen Windows Lite devices that will be launched next year. These devices will be different from the double-screen surface of Microsoft, now called Centuraus, which is supposed to be a pioneer and mark the beginning of a wave of folding dual-screen hybrid tablets / laptops from partners.
