Microsoft is employing to launch a retractable phone and is currently working on the Windows operating system on these devices.
Sources close to Microsoft's future projects on the Virg Tech website said that "the leading software manufacturer manufactures two-piece folding devices, a major investment for Windows and the Surface Series."
"The investment includes Windows and many built-in applications, making it possible to work with flip-flops and dual-screen devices," the sources said.
While Microsoft is testing its own two-button devices, also known as Andromeda, the company is also collaborating with Intel and other device manufacturers for the next few years.
Microsoft has managed to develop a 2×1 series of devices for Windows 8 in the past 5 years, and its new efforts for dual-fold and dual-display devices depend on Composable Shell and the Windows Core operating system.
According to the website, the folding and dual-screen devices will not be limited to Intel, as it is planned to launch a series of other computer companies including chips operated by ARM.
Microsoft is expected to face fierce competition in the dual-display and folding systems market. .
By early 2019, folding phones were already emerging, with the hope that they would be the beginning of a new battle to change the form factors of phones, tablets and laptops.
