A team of American researchers said there was a link between migraines and the way sodium was distributed in the brain, a discovery that could be key to future research on the treatment of millions of infected people.
Using high-capacity magnetic resonance imaging, researchers discovered some time ago an increase in sodium in the brainstem.
Long of the appearance of any sign of migraines according to the study published in the March issue of the magazine "Pain".
Michael Harrington, director of neuroscience at the Hannington Medical Research Institute in California, said that the importance of these findings was more revealing of the role played by the early increase in the amount of sodium in migraines and also helped point to the starting point.
Previous studies have shown that migraine sufferers have significantly higher sodium concentrations in cerebrospinal fluid than those observed in humans
Scientists have a number of different health problems, they seem to cause migraines, including anxiety, stress, light exposure and hormonal changes.
