Miley Cyrus: No place for sexual orientation in modern relationships

American singer Miley Cyrus said that sexual orientation and gender identity do not constitute an obstacle to modern relations, as is the case with her husband, Liam Hamsworth.

Cyrus, who defines herself as having a broad sexual orientation, says that she and her husband "redefine" what a "person like me" might seem to be between two heterosexuals.

"People fall in love with a person, not his type, his sexual orientation, his form or anything else," Cyrus told Vanity Fair.

"I do not think relationships in the new generation are very much about sexual orientation or gender," she said. "Sex is only a small part and gender is an almost irrelevant part of relationships."

Miley said she was proud to belong to the gay community.

Other people of sexual orientation have congratulated Cyrus for using his position to talk about the modern sexual orientation.
