He highlighted the main obstacles to the implementation of the Convention in the region, namely the absence of an institutional arm linking the Secretariat, on the one hand, and the countries of the region and existing specialized organizations to strengthen cooperation to reduce land degradation and mitigate the effects of drought, dust storms and sand, particularly in affected areas. Capacities, monitoring, monitoring, provision of information and reports, and looks forward to entering into a new phase of cooperation with the Convention Secretariat in the implementation of the Strategic Framework of the 2018-2030 Convention and the fifteenth sustainable development goals in the region.

Apostet emphasized the importance of producing the conclusions and decisions of COP 14 and the High-Level Meeting in order to contribute to strengthening international and regional efforts to make the planet healthy and able to sustainably provide and the services necessary for the life and well-being of all human beings.

The Minister of Agriculture leads the Egyptian delegation to this international conference, accompanied by Mr. Naim Moslehi, President of the Desert Research Center, National Coordinator of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. Science and technology.

Dialogue sessions will be organized to discuss some of the resolutions presented at the conference, the most important of which are the neutralization of land degradation, climate change and new and renewable energies. Egypt will participate in the high level.
