The Minister of Energy, Abdulaziz bin Salman, said that the explosions that occurred yesterday (Saturday), as a result of terrorist attacks in Saudi Aramco factories in Khurais and Abqaiq, have resulted in the suspension of associated gas production estimated at two billion cubic feet per day, used to produce 700,000 barrels of natural gas liquids, which will reduce ethane and natural gas liquids supply by up to 50 percent .

The minister pointed out that the terrorist act, which had taken place at 3:31 and 3:42 in the morning, had temporarily halted production activities in the factories of Abqaiq and Khurais, according to preliminary estimates. Or about 50% of the company's production, but part of the decline will be compensated for its customers by means of stocks.

Regarding domestic supplies, the Minister of Energy confirmed that this attack had no impact on the supply of electricity and water from fuel, nor on the energy supply. supplying the local market with fuel, nor caused injuries to workers on these sites until now, and the business is still in business. He assessed the implications, noting that the company is currently working on recovering lost quantities and will provide updated information in the next 48 hours.

He pointed out that this terrorist attack and sabotage was an extension of recent attacks on oil and civilian installations, pumping stations and oil tankers in the Persian Gulf.

He stressed that these attacks targeted not only the vital facilities of the Kingdom, but also the global oil supply, threatened its security and thus threatened the global economy, once again emphasizing the importance of the international community in its role to maintain the supply of energy against all terrorists who commit and support such cowardly and funded sabotage.
