The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Subhi, confirmed that the Egyptian league would not be canceled due to the organization of Egypt for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Subhi said in statements via the DMC channel that the subject would be discussed technically with the Egyptian Football Federation in the coming days, but denied the intention to cancel the tournament.
"It is an inherent right of the Egyptian Football Federation, we have never organized a tournament or participated in another, we have canceled the championship," said the Minister of Sport. .
"This will be the subject of technical discussions with the Football Federation, but the league will not be canceled and when the start of the Nations Cup, the local championship will come to an end".
He concluded: "Cut the broadcast of the BN Sport channel in Egypt and the opportunity not to broadcast for the Nations Cup will be one of the issues we will discuss and study over the coming period to find a solution."
The BN Sport has announced a suspension broadcast in Egypt from Tuesday, in the absence of an agreement with the Egyptian company for satellite channels.
