The Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Irrigation stressed the importance of Arab cooperation and coordination among Arab countries in order to optimize the use water and agricultural resources in the region.
Dr. Ezzeddine Abu Setit, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, called for the establishment of policies, mechanisms and procedures to support water and food security in developing countries. the Arab world, given the scarcity of water resources in the region during the current period, in cooperation with international partners.
Abu Setit told the Middle East News Agency on the sidelines of the joint meeting of Arab Ministers of Agriculture and Water held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo that a document would be launched at the conference to determine the general framework of this issue.
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Ati, assured the Agency of the importance of this meeting to coordinate cooperation among Arab countries in order to optimize the use of water resources and agricultural production in the Arab region.
The joint meeting of Arab Ministers of Agriculture and Irrigation, convened by the Arab Ministerial Council on Water at its tenth session in Kuwait last May, will focus on two of the most important challenges. to which the Arab region is confronted: food security and water security, water and agriculture in Arab countries.
