Ministry of Health authorizes pharmacies to provide medical care and vaccinations

The Saudi Ministry of Health has authorized pharmacies to provide urgent and non-urgent medical care, immunization services and biomarkers, after meeting all the conditions stipulated in the system.

Saudi Health Minister Mowaffaq Rabia approved the amendment of the Regulations for the Execution of Pharmaceutical Facilities and Preparations to Enable the Provision of Pharmaceutical Care Services, Including Immunization and Vital Signs Measurement, Education and training in health and training in the use of electronic health devices.

The regulation also authorized the opening of urgent medical care centers in the pharmacy with an independent license and the provision of non-urgent medical care services with the approval of the Ministry, as well as the opening of pharmacies in detail of food products.

In addition, the regulation provides that the Ministry grants licenses for the opening of pharmacies, electronic stores of medicinal plants and approves the use of vending machines.

The Ministry pointed out that a pharmaceutical product can only be sold if the current price is printed in addition to the registration number and stored in the electronic tracking system.
