A scientific study, derived from the seasonal "mistletoe" plant, can alleviate the symptoms of endometritis, a painful condition affecting 10% of women in the United Kingdom and the United States.
The disease develops when the tissue that normally forms the lining of the uterus begins to grow in other parts of the body. These tissues swell and bleed every month during the menstrual cycle. The Daily Mail reported that researchers from the Korea Catholic University in Seoul had discovered that she was in the "mistletoe", the secret of eliminating the painful stages of the disease by killing cells out of use. This occurred after the researchers had studied the case of 40 women with severe inflammation of the lining of the uterus, caused by the accumulation of scar tissue. The pain can be relieved in some cases by using anti-inflammatory painkillers, such as ibuprofen, to relieve inflammation.
