Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan has announced the start of production of the fourth generation of its “Outlander” series crossover at its Okazaki plant.

The curtain will be raised on the new model on February 16 in the United States of America, when the first batch of cars is dispatched.
The innovative platform on which the new Outlander will be built was developed by Renault, Mitsubishi and Nissan. The new model has a 2.5-liter, 184-horsepower gasoline engine and gearbox, and it will be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. There will be a “hybrid” version of this model in some countries.
It is planned to start sales of “Outlander” in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, and after some time the fourth generation of the crossover will be introduced in the markets of other countries, and for Russia it is expects that model will start production at the Mitsubishi plant in “Kaluga”, Russia.
