The American Wall Street Journal reported that last year the revenues of five giant US companies active in the information technology arena exceeded the trillion dollar level.
The companies are “Facebook”, “Amazon”, “Microsoft”, “Apple” and “Google”, and according to the newspaper, the revenues of these companies increased in 2020 by about a fifth compared to 2019.
Business revenues in 2020 hit $ 1.1 trillion, while profits rose 24%.
Growth in corporate income and profits comes despite the Corona crisis, which ravaged the world in 2020, but this crisis has in turn helped boost internet commerce and information technology.
The “Wall Street Journal” said revenues increased thanks to the Corona pandemic, because after many companies switched to remote working, sales of Apple laptops and tablets increased.
Microsoft also made additional profits from sales of computers, video calling services and cloud storage, while internet commerce generated additional revenue for Google and Amazon.
