The number of victims of the H1N1 flu in Morocco has risen to 9, after the previous official record of 5 deaths.
"The epidemiological situation remains normal compared to previous years," said Health Minister Anas Dikkali on Saturday.
"This cell follows the epidemiological situation and the situation does not differ from that of previous years," he told reporters after the meeting of the central epidemiological surveillance cell in Rabat.
He pointed out that "the cell is working to track and check all the actual data of infection".
"Of 20% of people with influenza or respiratory infections, 80% are infected with the H1N1 virus," said the minister.
"This year's viral status shows that the proportion of subtypes H1N1, which is the most prevalent, has remained in the 80%, the same percentage as the one authorized by the World Health Organization in the world."
In addition, the Minister pointed out that the Drugs Directorate and the Supply Department are working to provide the necessary medicines in all hospitals and health centers.
The minister called for greater vigilance, including from the elderly, children under five, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.
