The Portuguese Paulo Dorati has been nominated as the most likely candidate to take over the Algerian Al-Ahly, replacing Uruguayan Martin Lasarte.
According to Egyptian media, Dorati, nicknamed "Mourinho Africa" (Jose Mourinho is one of the most famous football coaches of the moment), is currently negotiating with Al-Ahli management on his annual salary.
The same sources expected Durrati to arrive Saturday in Cairo, if he agrees with the Ahli government, to meet Mahmoud Khatib, the club's president, to formally sign the contracts.
Dourati had a series of experiments in Africa, particularly in Burkina Faso between 2008 and 2012, where he managed to build a new team and make a breakthrough in Burkina Faso, thus raising his world ranking from 109th to 49th place.
Egyptian club Al-Ahly decided on Sunday to dismiss Lasarti from his post after the team's exit from the 16th round of the Egypt Cup, following a 1-to-1 defeat 1 by Pyramids.
