The granddaughter of Italian fascist leader Benito Mussolini, the famous Canadian actor Jim Carrey, attacked a photo of his grandfather at his expense on Twitter.
"If you're wondering what fascism is, just ask Benito Mussolini and his mistress Clarita," he says. "If you're wondering what fascism leads to, just ask Benito Mussolini and his mistress Clarita."
Mussolini, his mistress and a number of his companions were executed in April 1945, after the fall of fascism in Italy at the end of the Second World War. It is known that a photo of his body is hanging on the central square of Milan.
Alessandra Mussolini, a member of the European Parliament, attacked actor Jim Carrey, calling him "nasty", in response to Twitter, before arguing with a journalist who had defended the actor.
Mussolini's granddaughter released a photo of the Hiroshima bomb, delivered by the US Army in Japan during World War II. "Why do not you paint that, Jim Carrey?" Referring to the contempt of the actor for the war armaments of the Allied armies during the Second World War.
The actor, known for his comic roles, has not yet responded to Alessandra's images.
