My work on variety shows was “carefree” and won over people … and the urge made me quit television

Al-Marsad Journal: Director Saad Al-Wathlan said he decided to stay away from variety shows, considering this period to be a “period of neglect”, indicating that he did not want to seduce viewers and bear all their sins.

Al-Watlan added: “Imagine the one who goes out with varieties and continues throughout their life in this work, woe, so I apologized.”

Al-Watlan continued, “My last job, which I consider the straw that broke the camel’s back, is my trip to America at the behest of Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd, to direct the opening of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Los Angeles and Scotland in Edinburgh.

And he continued, “Envy brought me back from there to investigate me on TV, even though I was traveling by official request, and that was the reason I was leaving TV.”

Al-Watlan told a funny story, that the Ministry of Higher Education initially agreed to send him to study “electronic engineering” in America, without paying attention to his literary major, then the situation was corrected and television production has been studied.
