WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A rock the size of the tallest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa, will pass next month next week, the US space agency said Thursday.

The rock, called the 2000 QW7 asteroid, is expected to roll at unprecedented speeds of up to 14,361 mph.

On September 14, it is expected to exceed 2,000 OW7 from Earth, over a distance of 3.3 million miles.

NASA director Jim Pridenstein warned of a possible collision of asteroids, predicting a fatal collision for which the Earth was not prepared.
