The US Space Agency is organizing a press conference tonight to unveil the fate of the spacecraft.

The last Appurionity robotic robotic connection to Earth occurred on June 10, 2018, when a severe dust storm followed and blanketed the entire planet, preventing the vehicle from continuing its mission.

On Tuesday, February 12, NASA made its last attempt to deliver new orders to Opportunity. At a press conference held at the California Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA will reveal whether the attempt was successful or not.

Although it's not clear if this is the end of the road for Opportunity, many have started renting the buzz on the Twitter social networking site.

One user said, "If this huge volume of metal millions of miles away did not send a signal … I'm going to cry."

"Even though Opportunity did not overcome this hurdle, it took an epic journey, a longer life than expected and a flame of glory in one of the biggest dust storms recorded in the world," he added.

The NASA press conference is scheduled to start at 19:00 GMT, at 22:00 Moscow time, and will be broadcast live on the NASA Webcast.
