NASA publishes a beautiful photo of the moon and Jupiter in the Alps

NASA has published a superb photo of the moon and Jupiter in the night sky over the Alps.

NASA unveiled on September 2 the photo taken by photographer Georgia Hoover, published on the site of "The Astronomical Image of the Day" sponsored by the US Space Agency and the University of Michigan Tech.

"When we were walking in a high mountain pass in northern Italy three weeks ago, there was a convergence between our moon and the distant planet, Jupiter, where they both stood up together in the south -west after sunset, "said NASA.

The picturesque mountains from far away are Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three peaks of Lavaredo), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the third among the most famous peaks in Italy, after the Dolomites and the Alps together .

The image of the moon and Jupiter contains a popular hiking station in the area known as Locatelli Hut.

While the moon and Jupiter appear in the center of the image, Saturn can also be detected at the top left.
