Al-Sharhan said the committee, along with officials from the ministry, was continuing to discuss articles of the Mental Health Bill, which consisted of 58 articles, and amendments made by the committee to some of its articles and articles. and the documents at his disposal. elaborated, in preparation for a consensus around it and formulating it in its final form.
She added that the bill is one of the important laws because it helps to cope with the pressures that affect the psyche and the behavior of the human being and works to achieve psychological and social stability in the society.
Al-Sharhan said that according to the bill, relevant government agencies, public utility associations, the private sector and individuals will establish nursing homes to accommodate and treat mental patients whose condition does not require treatment. stay in the mental health facility, and they do. not having a breadwinner to take care of them or not having the necessary family care, and the executive regulation of this law specifies the conditions and controls for the work of these houses, stressing that the provisions of this law apply to the psychiatric patient, the health establishment and any other establishment in the country concerned by the care of the psychiatric patient and the workers of one of them, including free zones.
She added that the bill aims, in accordance with the text of the second article thereof, to regulate the relationship between the mentally ill and the various parties dealing with him, in order to ensure the provision of the necessary health care to the patient. psychiatric patient in accordance with the best standards applicable in this field, to protect and preserve the rights and dignity of the mental patient, and to reduce the negative effects of mental disorders. In the life of individuals, families and society, and to promote the integration of the psychiatric patient into society.
Al-Sharhan added that the committee had reformulated during its meeting the recommendations of the council referred to the committee regarding the subject of “the policy of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment regarding the achievement of sustainable development of fishery, animal resources. and agriculture in the country. “, and it was submitted to the presidency of the council after the adoption of its report.
