CAIRO: Real Madrid goalkeeper Kellor Navas recently extended his contract with the team until the summer of 2021, his salary rising from 3.5 to 5 million euros a year, the daily Marca announced.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Navas would not want to leave in the current transfer counter, because his family was happy in Madrid, despite his difficult position in the royal team.
The 32-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper has lost his official seat to Belgium's Tibo Cortua. Argentine coach Santiago Solari has waived the rotation policy set by his predecessor, Galin Lopezteggi, and has only involved Navas in the Spain Cup.
Earlier press reports indicated that Arsenal was interested in signing Navas and was ready to shell out 16 million euros for the current Mercato.
