Cameroon has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt next June after beating Comoros 3-0 on Saturday in the final round of the second African qualifying group.

Cameroon's Erik Maxim Chopo Motting, Clarence Peteng and Karl Tocco Icampi scored in the 37th, 53rd and 89th minutes.

The Cameroonian team reached 11 points in second place, the difference of direct confrontations with the Moroccan team, and stopped the balance of the Comoros to five points in fourth position in the last direct confrontation with Malawi.

The Moroccan team, qualified as the first group, beat Cameroon in total two matches 2/1.

The Comoros drew 2-2 against Malawi in all matches, but the Malawi team took advantage of the goal-scoring rule off the ground with two goals.

Cameroon was supposed to organize the finals of the African nations, but the African Union withdrew due to the lack of preparation of the country and opened the reception of the candidatures for the organization of the tournament, that the Egypt finally had the honor of organizing.
