We spoke with star Liqa ‘Al-Khamisi about her quest to present complex roles, and her return to acting after a 3-year absence in which she took care of her children and her husband.

Tell us about the “Open Vacation” series, which started airing?

“Happy Vacation” is one of the distinguished works in which I have had the honor to work, and I consider it the most dear to my heart recently. We’ve been preparing it for a long time as a team, and my character, which I’m going to play, has been followed very precisely. The series consists of 40 episodes, and discusses social issues and marital issues in a comedic way, and j ’embodies the In which the role of a strong woman trying to resolve her lingering issues with her husband (Sheriff Mounir), with whom I had the honor to work and considers it a great blessing from our Lord for his presence in this work, in addition to a huge work team, whether from a large group of stars behind or in front of the camera, I am happy to work with them, the filming location is delicious, full of humor and spontaneity, and I also share the spotlight with the great artist Samiha Ayoub, King of Qura, Donia Maher, Murad Makram, Karim Abu Zeid and Hisham Ismail, and it is written by Ahmed Mahmoud Abu Zeid and directed by Mohamed Abdel Rahman Hamaki.

And what motivated you to present a comedy series after your participation in “Against Al Kasr”?

I was delighted to take part in the “Open Vacation” series because it is a family comedy, especially after the end of the Ramadan season, where the audience is looking for light work, and the director Mohamed Hamaki has talent and I wanted work with him because he has different tools, and I play in the series the character of a mother of teenage children, a woman who works in A bank with a lot of ambition and knows how to achieve her goals, and her life is confined between home, family and work.

But don’t you think a 40-episode work is too long?

I was trying to make up for my absence, as I had been absent for 3 years from the field of art and work because I was concerned about my children and my husband in addition to the conditions of the Corona pandemic, which has prolonged my estrangement from art, so when I was shown this series I found it to be very good and present myself in a new and different way and discuss social issues important to many groups in a comedic form, and I do not find that a risk at all, and series far from being the season of Ramadan have become essential and have been successful in previous years, and this work I had contracted before the presentation of the series (Against Al Kasr), in which I participated as Nadine.

Regarding “Nadine” in Against Alkasr, how did you find the reactions?

In fact, everyone in the audience hated me, which made me happy, of course, because I managed to convince the audience of this character, and I received some strong reactions, both on the street. or from my friends at the gym, where they blamed me for the evil inside of “Nadine”, in addition to the pioneers of social networking sites who made comics about my role. In the series ironically, as with my friends in the arts community, I received kudos and praise from them for the role, especially since I had not been involved in Ramadan works for a long time due to my insistence. to choose an important and strong role, which I found in the series “Against Al Kasr”.

Was it difficult to prepare? Were you afraid of it when I gave it to you?

I see her quite well, unlike all viewers, but I cannot deny that she only has a psychological problem, and that there is no psychological peace in her, but she does. reached with her confession to her friend Salma of her love for her husband. he moved away from her, in addition to his strength in dealing with his wife without showing any sense of her love for him.

I was not at all scared when I was introduced to the character, because I love roles and characters that combine both good and bad qualities, because no human being is free from flaws or advantages, and the son of Adam by nature has a bad side and a good side because we are not angels but humans make mistakes and try to stay away from sin and our lives are full of good and bad deeds despite About Us, this is what I found in the character of “Nadine”, and I also found that audiences really like and get attached to kinky roles, and the reason maybe the audience sees that he is a victim of these characters in his real life, on top of that i see the evil character is tough, but the good guy doesn’t have as much difficulty The villain doesn’t have any details because he is peaceful unless he is a complex character.

This work is the first that brings you together with Nelly Karim. How did you find the cooperation with her?

Indeed, this is the first job that reunites me with the artist Nelly Karim, and she has proven herself in the field of acting in recent years and a beautiful personality in the treatment of photography scenes and is calm and works without any interference and the cooperation with her was wonderful. Azim, Louay Imran and Cynthia Khalifa were crazy, and Tara Emad and all the staff were diligent.

You gave a concert some time ago and you haven’t done it again, what’s the reason?

Another concert was planned, but it took a lot of practice and rehearsals, and I was also busy with the series (Against the Break) and then I started filming the series (Open Vacation) afterwards, and so I was not ready for the ceremony recently, and although I am not organizing These concerts are for financial reasons. I love communicating with audiences because I grew up in theater and I feel positive energy communicating directly with audiences, and I’m getting ready to shoot a new song in a music video.
