The US space agency NASA is about to set a precedent in the invasion of space, while the New Horizons probe spends the New Year near the most studied crime at the ends of the solar system.
Scientists call this frozen object UltimaTole, which is about the size of Washington and is located at a distance of six to 400 million kilometers from the Earth in the Kuiper belt that surrounds the solar system.
The survey is expected to reach the lowest distance at 5h33 GMT on 1 January. Until then, the form of the crime and its composition in scientific mysteries remain. Because it is very far from the sun and frozen, the composition of the object is still the same since its formation. Scientists consider it a living witness to the birth of the solar system four and a half billion million years ago.
The probe carries a camera that focuses its lens on the surface of the object to obtain images allowing scientists to understand its shape and determine whether it is one or more sections.
Scientists are eagerly awaiting images and information from the spacecraft, which will take six hours and eight minutes to reach Earth, and will only cover 3,500 kilometers of ground the first of next month.
