British security forces could deploy surveillance systems throughout the country to combat the threat of flying planes after three days of interruption at Gatwick Airport in South London.
"I can say that we are now able to deploy surveillance systems across the UK to combat this threat," UK Security Secretary Ben Wallace said in a tweet. He gave no other details, according to Reuters.
Surveillance of aircraft flying near Gatwick Airport, Britain's second-largest airport, wreaked havoc last week, revealing a vulnerability that security forces and aviation authorities around the world should closely monitor .
Police said they had heard from dozens of people who saw the planes. The investigation is ongoing and no one has claimed responsibility.
