A specialist in complementary medicine has come up with a new solution that can help people sleep quickly and finally eliminate insomnia.
"Foot massage can help people sleep better," said Michele Stevens, reflexologist.
"Our feet contain 26 bones and more than 7,000 nerve endings called reflexes, which are associated with all the organs in our body."
According to Stevens, the solution depends on the practice of foot massage, every day before going to bed, gently pressing on the "reflex points" of the foot.
There are "reflex points" in the thumb (the big finger), as well as the area that precedes the bottom fingers.
This technique helps the body to regain its natural balance by stimulating the nervous system and opening energy pathways that can be blocked.
"This simple exercise, which lasts a few minutes, helps with relaxation and encourages deep breathing, thus increasing oxygen levels throughout the body," said the specialist.
Insomnia is a major global problem affecting about one third of men and women in their 30s and 40s and about half of women over 65 years old.
