ArchiveEgyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab collapsed after crying and appealed to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi after the Music Professionals Union stopped work in the country following a report by Accusing of having published fake news.

A lawyer who lodged a complaint against the 38-year-old singer said that she "had the habit of harassing Egypt on all forums, festivals and foreign parties".

Lawyer Samir Sabri said in a statement on his Facebook page that he had attached a CD with his statement confirming what Shereen Abdel Wahab had said at a concert in Bahrain.

According to local newspapers and media, the singer reportedly said at a ceremony in Bahrain that she could now speak freely. All those speaking in Egypt could be in prison, as admitted to the singer during a phone conversation with an Egyptian talk show.

But she pointed out that she did not want to say freedom of expression, but the intended characters who were there and drew their words from the context.

After the uproar that began Thursday night, she appealed to Shirin al-Sisi and apologized for her words "which undermine Egyptian national security," according to a statement from the Music Professionals Union.

Sheren Abdel Wahab is scheduled to appear next Wednesday before the Union of Music Professionals' Investigation Committee. According to the decision to stop them, she will not be allowed to ride on a platform in Egypt until the committee makes its decision on communications submitted to the union.

"I am oppressed and my god and yes, I appeal to President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, and I find it because I am oppressed and I am sorry," said Sherine during a phone call in the program framework.

After the crisis, Sherene issued a statement defending her belonging to her country and promised to appeal to the law to deal with what she described as "amateur fishing in murky waters." She said that she was not safe for herself and her family except in her own country.

This is not the first time that the singer is held responsible for what she calls "joking" in front of her audience.

Last January, the prosecution investigated the singer after a similar statement after stating at a concert, "I am losing in Egypt".

At another concert in the United Arab Emirates, Sherine responded to a request from one of her fans to play the song "Masherbich from Neilha" by saying that drinking Nile water led to schistosomiasis, and advised him to drink Evian mineral water.
